		<description>BNC is old Calvyn - you almost certainly have an RJ45 socket on your desktop / laptop, if you ever connect it to a wired network. The RJ45 socket is the plastic push-in plug on the end of Cat 5 cables. It looks a bit like a telephone plug, only slightly larger. BNC is like the connector on the end of a TV aerial cable. The Old PC in the article is about 12 years old. Around that time, Cat 5 &#039;twisted pair&#039; cabling was taking over from the coaxial cabling that most networks were made with. It was quite usual to find network cards with both connectors on, like in this PC.</description>
